The
Aqua-DOC is simply strapped around the return line before the water
enters the pool or spa. The Aqua-Doc can be installed on either
PVC, copper, iron or flex pipe.

Check
water hardness and total alkalinity for proper levels. If you
do not have the proper test equipment to perform the tests,
most pool equipment stores will run the tests for you. Hardness
should be in the 150-250 range. Total alkalinity should be 90
ppm for plaster pools and 100 ppm for vinyl, acrylic, painted
and fiberglass. If the hardness is above the 150-250 ppm range,
alkalinity should be reduced with acid. This table shows the
proper level for alkalinity based on the amount of hardness.
For example, if the hardness is 500 ppm the alkalinity should
be 70-80 ppm. This is the most important adjustment to be made
to ensure the Aqua-DOC works properly. Readings higher than
those recommended will still work, but readings lower than recommended
may cause expensive damage to equipment. |
|
| |
The
recycling pump should be run continually for at least 24 to 48 hours
after installing the Aqua-DOC to ensure water is fully conditioned.
After the initial period, the recycling pump should be run a minimum
of 2 hours a day for a spa and 6 hours for a pool application. Longer
recycling periods may be necessary depending on swimmer load.
|
| |
Chlorine/bromine
levels should be at the normal recommended levels during the first
few weeks the system is claritying itself. After that, the residual
may be reduced in a private pool or spa to about 1/2 of the normal
recommended amount. For commercial systems, follow the health department
requirements.
|
| |
Clean
or backwash the filter after installing the Aqua-DOC. Watch filter
pressure since Aqua-DOC will start to coagulate solids, minerals,
algae, etc. that are in the water into large enough clumps to be
filtered out. This could clog the filter and raise filter pressure
to a dangerous level. Since Aqua-DOC increases the efficiency of
the filter, it should be backwashed or cleaned more frequently than
usual.
|
| |
Scale
and calcium will start to dissolve and return to suspension in the
water. This may cause a period of cloudy water for a few days. Relax
and wait for the enhanced filtration of the Aqua-DOC to clarity
the system.
|
| |
Keeping
the filter clean and maintaining the proper sanitizer (chlorine/bromine)
level will ensure that the pool or spa water stays clean and sanitary
with the least work.
|
| |
If
you are having any problems with your water staying clear and bright,
first check the filter and the sanitizer level. Clean or backwash
the filter and raise the sanitizer residual to the recommended level.
If the problem persists, check the total alkalinity. If alkalinity
is more that 10 ppm above the recommended range, problems can arise.
If alkalinity is too high, reduce it with the application of acid.
Follow your water professional's recommendations on the amount and
method to apply.
|
| |
If
other chemicals are needed with the Aqua-DOC system, start with
1/2 the normal amount before adding more. In most cases, less than
1/2 the normal amount will suffice.

To
properly balance your water, start by testing calcium hardness
and total alkalinity.
If hardness is below 15O-250 ppm. Raise total alkalinity
to 90 ppm using bicarbonate of soda. Next, raise calcium hardness
using calcium chloride.
If hardness is above 250 ppm. Find the hardness reading on
the index scale and read total alkalinity opposite it in the
alkalinity column. Raise total alkalinity, if necessary ,
using bicarbonate of soda. If total alkalinity is already
above the ideal reading for the corresponding hardness level,
use acid to reduce alkalinity to the level opposite your hardness
reading. Follow your local water professional's recommendation
on the amount of acid to apply and the proper method.
Using the Aqua-DOC system, pH can be allowed to float between
7.2 to 8.2.

| Some
Aqua-DOC models are designed to be installed in tandem with
other units. Each Aqua-DOC unit consists of two halves which
surround the pipe. Some models consist of four or six half units.
These models are designed to be mounted in tandem with a spacing
of 1 3/4" between each unit. |

The
Aqua-DOC water conditioner is guaranteed to perform as stated in
our literature. Since each system is different, the product must
be installed for a period of 60 days to properly solve each unique
water situation. If within 60 days after the initial 30 day period
the product does not perform as stated, simply return the unit in
resaleable condition to your dealer for a money back refund.
